Ok, I am having a big problem sleeping on my side. I fall asleep that way, but no matter what I do, I wake up on my back. I've tried piling pillows on either side, I've been using the snoogle both with the long side along my front and my back and no matter what I do, I move everything in my sleep and end up on my back.
Also, I find it MUCH more comfortable to lay on my right side. When I lay on my left side my shoulder hurts and my boobs smoosh. I don't know why it's different.
I'm 26 weeks tomorrow so I'm a little worried that my body hasn't resolved this yet. Any advice?
Re: Sleeping on your side
It is okay to sleep on your right side. If your body allows you to sleep on your back, that is fine too. I asked my OB about this at 26 weeks and he said that as the pregnancy progressed, it probably wouldn't be comfortable to sleep on my back anymore, but that my body would let me know.
I sleep mainly on my right side. I try to switch it up with the left, but right mainly wins out. My shoulder is more comfortable that way too. OB said that was okay too.

I asked my doctor during my last appointment about sleeping on my back. He told me that as long as it was comfortable it was fine. He said as the pregnancy progresses and baby grows I most likely will not be comfortable on my back.
Most nights I fall asleep on my side and wake up on my back, then when I fall back asleep I am on my side because it is comfortable. Try not to stress about it.
