Intro and a Question

My DH and I just started cycle 4 of TTC #1.  We have been married a little over two years.  I'm 26, he's 30.  I have been off BCP for over a year and charting with FF. 

My first question is... How painful are your periods?  CD1 is pretty unbearable for me and I am wondering if this isn't normal.  I have intense lower back pain that goes through my hips and down my legs.  I have even left work a few times because I can't stand to sit in my chair.  It takes a number of pain pills, heating pads and moaning to get me through the day.  I just want to curl in a ball and cry, but by CD2 or 3 I feel fine.  Is this normal?

    I never had cramps while on BC, but since I've stopped I always have cramps. They always occur on the day before and cd 1. They are very intense. Like you, I want to ball up and beg someone to remove my uterus! Now I'm on cd 3 and I don't have the slightest cramp though..

    Good luck ttc #1! We're trying for our first too..

    Welcome. I had cramps that bad as a teenager but thankfully outgrew them.

    Welcome! I have cramps that make me feel like my uterus is about to drop out, but never down my legs, yikes! Good luck, heating pads and lots of drugs!

    TTC since 10/11
    HSG, BW, Ultrasound, SA, Genetic testing, Karyotype - all normal
    DX - Unexplained IF
    3/13-9/13 - 2 Clomid IUIs & 3 Injectable IUIs - All BFN
    Cycle 25 - IVF w/ antagonist protocol - ER 11/18 (11R, 9F) - ET 11/23 (1 "good" early blast) - none left to freeze - BFN
    Cycle 26 - IVF w/ antagonist protocol  - ER 1/17 (12R, 11M, 8 F) - ET 1/22 (2 "good" expanded blasts) 
    2 frosties - Beta 2/4 - BFP! 2104, 2/7 -  4780, ultrasound 2/12 - holy shiz, there are 2!

    Welcome and good luck! 

    As for pain during AF, I get cramps and back pain but I don't think its anything like you are describing.  I dont know if I'm lucky or if its not normal to get so much pain.
