Two Under 2

About to buy a City Select...what parts do I need?

My daughter will be 22 months when Baby #2 is born. We are sold on buying the city select, I'm just not sure what parts to buy! It seems like there are so many attachments!

I'm not going to get the bassinet, but I do want the car seat adapter. Other than that, do I just need to buy a second seat for my 23 month old?

Re: About to buy a City Select...what parts do I need?

  • You need the second seat for sure. It comes with the 2 adapters that you use for the 2nd child.

Make sure you get the correct car seat adapter. There is one for Chicco car seats only and one for all others.

As far as other accessories, I'm not a big fan of either of their cup holders. I know some people have good things to say about this one:  https://www.amazon.com/Sunshine-Kids-Stroller-Accessory-Buggy/dp/B000SMWUPS/ref=sr_1_16?ie=UTF8&qid=1326986537&sr=8-16

  • I would also get the snack tray.  My DS was 18 months when DD was born so he was still using his in his old stroller.  He grew out of needing it pretty quickly, but DD has used it for a long time and it has come in handy.  Often times, if we are at the mall, I will just leave her in the seat and use the tray as her "table".

Good luck!  I LOVE our stroller :)

It took over four years to be diagnosed with PCOS. We TTC #1 for 18 months, did 5 rounds of Clomid and finally moved onto IVF...which worked! Throughout our IF journey, we suffered 3 miscarriages. We conceived both DD and DS without treatment.

  • I love my BJCS! It has been the best (and most used) 2 under 2 purchase not counting my minivan! My DD is 26 months and i'm about to order the snack tray and glider board for her.

In addition to the 2nd seat and car seat adaptor, I have the Valco Bevi Buddy cup holder. It isn't perfect, but I like it a lot better than the BJ universal console or the sunshine kids console(which I own but don't use). The valco cup holder works pretty well for holding a drink, but it is somewhat large and I do have to adjust it periodically due to the curved handlebar in the stroller. I also have Think King Mighty Buggy Hooks (amazon.com). They work really well with the BJCS handlebar and come in really handy when I have a lot of bags and stuff. They don't stick out or anything so they are never in the way. Oh and if your diaper bag doesn't have built in stroller hooks I would suggest getting some. I have a Juju Be bag and bought the juju be stroller hooks. They work well and don't slip down the curved handlebar very often.

  • We got the second seat and the glider board. I hated the snack tray and activity bar. The glider board is great when I have a quick trip, no shopping carts, and need my stroller. We also plan on getting the high chair attachment for when we go to Europe.

  • I've gotten the snack tray for DD (works well for us) and the Stroll-Air Stroller Organizer for me (really like it).

We didn't get a bassinet either, but did get a BJCS with the second seat.  Now I'm just stalking the car seat adapter on amazon in hopes it will go down some in price before LO gets here.
