The way I could tell that DS had dropped (it was between 36-37 wks I think) was that I could suddenly fit a drastically larger amount of food in my stomach--like double what I could before he dropped. Breathing was also easier.
I kept thinking this guy had "dropped" but I don't think he has officially. My OB said muscles and whatnot are already stretched out this time around so it just feels like he's lower.
Um hello? How did you get to be 31 weeks pregnant??
DS2 pounded on my nether region more I think because he was head up for a while but it may have been because of being second baby and not as firmed up as I'd like to think of myself. Like pp said about breathing easier and more room in the stomach, I also had several people look at me and say that the baby was low. They had tried to measure my stomach at the dr and stopped saying he had dropped. This was probably 34-36 weeks.
I'm right there with ya. This girl has been knocking the heck out of my pelvic floor, lower abs, and groin area. At this point the ribs might be better...
this pregnancy has 2 speeds, slow as molasses and lightning!
baby j is head up, but there's uhm plenty of time to turn
my lower abs, pelvic floor etc all are rippling with waves of ouch btwn what literally feels like getting tapped danced on. breathing certainly isn't easier, but rather slightly harder. i've got no torso so baby is pretty crammed in there and it feels like he's stretching/pushing around trying to get more room :
I'll just take this as another good sign my body is actually wanting to have a baby

I don't think I ever "dropped" I just started having contractions. The nurse said sometimes you don't truly drop till right before you give birth. But everyone is different, you may be getting close!
