So, I still can't find the baby's HB on the doppler. We tried it tonight for a few minutes and could hear movement though, at least something was moving in there. For all I know it could all be gas bubbles I guess.
Can anyone else hear movement even if they can't find the HB? I just thought I would be able to hear something by now, as long as everything is ok in there.

Quezzo, not sure of your size, but I am fairly small pre pregnancy and I didn't find it until around 12 weeks. And even then it wasn't consistent. I wouldn't worry too much.

I did find mine a little before 10 weeks.. but, it took a LOT of patience.. and, a LOT of lube!!! My suggestion, stay low.. even though you're just picking up your HB down there, that's where baby is too.. usually, what I do is I place it low on my abdomen, slightly to the right of where my belly button is, and I move it SOOO slowly.. and each time I move it a little, I angle the probe in all different directions.. gotta be super patient though.. usually, takes me anywhere from 5-25 minutes to find it!! Some days, baby lets me find it right away, but then disappears, and nomatter how hard I try to find it again, I can't.. other days, may take a good 20 minutes or more to find it, but once I do I can listen for a good minute or 2 before he/she moves!! They are wiggly beans in there!!
Keep trying, i'm sure you'll get it
Oh, and about the lube.. definitely use more! I read through the troubleshooting guide for the sonoline B online, and that's one of the things they said.. make sure you're using plenty of gel! I actually use KY Gel instead of the actual ultrasound lube -- it's cheaper and I can get it at the store!! I already used all the lube that came with my doppler!!
Best of luck!!!
I'm sure it's just too early! I have better luck finding the hb when I have a full bladder (which is what they tell you when you do an abdominal u/s too) and use lots of gel (like quarter sized amount or more).
I start out at the top of my hairline and move the probe very slowly across that area, angling the probe slowly at each spot. When I hear the whooshing sound, I usually know I'm close to the baby and then stay in that spot and keep moving it around until I find it. Sometimes it takes a while, sometimes I find it right away.
