Just wondering if anyone has had trouble trying to conceive after a c-section that was tied either directly or indirectly back to your c-section (or subsequent infection, etc.)? We are TTC #2 without much luck for 7 months now and after having become pregnant on our first "try" with #1, I am starting to wonder...
Thanks!
Re: Difficulty TTC After C-Section
A recent AJOG cited increased risks of infertility following a c-section:

This is correct. There is an increased risk of fertility after a c/s (that goes up the more you have). I don't recall the actual numbers- it is not a large percentage, but it is possible and worth talking to your doctor about.
In my experience absolutely not! I have PCOS and TTC for 3+ years to get DS, which finally happened with fertility meds. I'm currently pregnant because I forgot my birth control one month and DH and I DTD only on one day that month, we weren't TTC, it just happened for us.
If you are concerned you could ask your doctor.
I once had a picture until the trolls showed up.

I didn't have any issues, got pg on my 2nd month trying (ended ectopic) and on the second month after that as well. Fingers crossed it happens soon!
yes....
I was infertile for over 2 years of TTC #2. I had done 5 medicated cycles with IUI's with no luck. I finally had a laparoscopy on October and my bladder was attached to my uterus and my uterus also attached to my abdomen. My right tube was twisted and completely folded over with scar tissue. My Dr. freed up all the adhesions and I got pregnant naturally 2 cycles later.
I did have a post-op infection with ds. My fertility Dr. said he had only seen complications from a c-section like this 3 times in his career.
~after 34 cycles we finally got our 2nd little bundle of joy~

My IF blog
I have been charting but my cycles have been quite variable in length - up to 42 days at one point and now 30-32 so hoping things happen soon. But I do appreciate all of the information, because if things progress past a year I will definitely know to ask lots of questions about the c-section, scar tissue, etc. Thanks so much!

I had the reverse. It took multiples cycles to get pg with my first and conceived the first time we used the withdrawal method as BC with #2.
Secondary IF does happen to couples regardless of how they delivered their first child. Not that you're necessarily experiencing that as it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive.
It's not a terrible idea to call your OBs office and see what they say. If you're under 35, they might wait a few more months to intervene, but its probably worth a call to see what their opinion is.
