I need a really good endocrinologist in the Austin area - ideally in North or Central Austin. I am being treated for hypothyroidism but am still losing my hair pretty rapidly after 6 months or so and am kinda freaking out. Thanks for any recs!
My husband sees Dr. Emerson at Texas Diabetes and endocrinology-- it's at Far West and Mopac. I've actually been impressed with all the docs there and the practice in general.
Married October 28, 2006, TTC since March 2009
IUI #1-8 w/ clomid = BFN
IVF # 1 May, 2011 = BFP!!! Stillbirth at 26 weeks (placental failure/severe IUGR)
FET #1 February, 2012-- BFP! Beta #1=84 Beta #2= 207 Beta #3= 3,526
Our Rainbow Baby is on the Way!

I go to Texas Diabetes & Endocrinology. My endo is Valerie Espinoza. All patients also work with a CNS or a PA. My PA is Brandy Wellmon.
We just left Brandy's office. We've been happy with their practice so far for my husband. We don't have answers on what's going on with him yet, but they've very caring.
I see Dr Scumpia at Austin Thyroid & Endocrinology. She's good for me because she knows her stuff & it's fast to get in and out of an appointment, but I know there are lots of folks who don't click with her.

I see Maya Bledsoe at Seton Hospital North, off 183 around Braker. I'm not thrilled with her bedside manner or communication, so I might take one of these other recommendations and switch!

I see her as well and have for a few years. She's not very personable, but when she feels like something doesn't look the way it should she is very proactive to look into it quickly.

I saw Dr. Scumpia and while she did some testing I didn't find her thorough. I can handle a doctor that is not personable (hello I love Dr. Braun stein) but I really had a hard time with her after finding out that I had a thyroid condition and iron disease that she just dismissed. If these things had been diagnosed when I first had suspicions of them my anemia wouldn't have progressed as severely as it had. This is was also confirmed by Dr. Hellers ted t

I think Dr. Emerson is gone now.
