Just last two nights I've been waking up (rare usually) and sore then all day. Please note: we are cheap. What is special about a maternity pillow? Do they really help? Or have I just reached the point where expecting comfort is unwise?
I'm not to the point yet where I will know if my pillow will work or not, for now it does alright, but mainly I just wanted to say that I just read your *** my husband says blog and I just peed my pants. I think mixed feelings are involved here right now. On one hand I'm frustrated that I have the bladder of a 1 year old, and on the other it was totally worth it.
I had a maternity pillow for my 1st pg and 3 months in it had gone flat on me. this time I got a $10 body pillow from Target and it's holding up better than the $50 one from last time.
I don't have a maternity pillow, didn't use one last pg either. I bought a body pillow from Target and use that...love it! I do notice that if I sleep on my side I have to have the pillow between my knees as well as my ankles, otherwise my hips are killing me when I wake up. HTH!
I was probably right around 21 weeks when suddenly I was waking up with terrible hip pain. Rather than spend money on a maternity pillow, I used our extra king size pillows in the same manner. One on each side of my body so if I flipped over it would be there to go between my knees. It does the job and my hips stopped hurting. I still don't sleep through the night anymore but I don't think any pillow in the world will help that lol
I agree with these ladies. I have a body pillow from Target also and that has worked wonderfully. I put it between my legs or prop it up behind my back and that seems to help.
I cannibalized two old pillows into two longer, narrower "maternity" pillows last pregnancy, and will just use those again. The length was nice because I could tuck it under my belly and between my knees at the same time...and having two meant I could flip sides easily. And it was FREE!
I didn't buy a maternity pillow. However, I am a pillow queen. I LOVE pillows. I found what works is using two body pillows one on each side, placed slightly under your back and having 2 pillows under my feet and under my head to be so comfortable. The only problem is I rarely get to snuggle with DH in this position but, its too uncomfy to snuggle anyway....
We already had a body pillow on our bed that I have commandeered and sleep with every night, one arm and leg over it. I think it was something like 10-15$ at Walmart. Works fine for me so far.

Sorry to be of no help. My ADD got in the way.
He's a real gem. I hope I can keep it a secret until baby boy comes. Sleep-deprived DH Is an especially interesting creature.

It's going to be something your baby is going to love reading through when he gets older.

The same thing happened to me when I saw your Labyrinth picture
Yeeeah, it's my own sig that I see all the time and it still makes me click on it a lot. xD
I have never used a maternity pillow, or even a body pillow, when pregnant. I had lots of bad hip pain in my first and 2nd pregnancies, but sleeping with a spare (regular) pillow between my knees worked well for me (for the most part. i think we all get to a point where nothing helps...)
A friend gave me a snoogle. She gave it to me because she hated it. I used it for a few weeks until DH kicked it out of the bed because I couldn't spoon him "tight enough" with the snoogle in the way and he couldn't take it anymore (seriously).
DH uses just a cheap body pillow from wal-mart and he tried my snoogle, thinking it would be the dream body pillow. He threw it away in minutes saying there wasn't enough "volume" to it (his real words).
So I've been okay without a body pillow for the last couple of weeks. BUT I'm in a hotel out of town this week and I've used one spare pillow on each side. It's been nice!
I've slept with a body pillow since I was an infant. I'm not about to give it up for a maternity pillow. I haven't woken up sore yet, and I'm just sleeping like I normally do with the pillow between my arms, knees, and ankles. The two of us are taking up a bit more room than we used to though, and DH is starting to complain we need a bigger bed.

Cool. I will try a regular pillah betwixt my knees tonight and see how it goes. Super helpful, ladies.
