Trying to Get Pregnant

How to kill the b!tch in me

I don't have a lot in the way of physical PMS symptoms, but the moodiness and irritability hit me hard every month.  It almost feels debilitating the way it affects the way I feel.

Does anyone else deal with this and have you found anything that actually helps?

Re: How to kill the b!tch in me

  • I have issues about every 3rd month.  I had found something - St. John's Wort -that was seeming to help but when I went to my doctor she said it is not good for TTC so I had to quit.  Thankfully this AF my DH is only have to deal with me having severe cramping pain.  Hopefully we won't get to my severe bishiness AF.

  • Have you talked to your Dr. about perhaps having PMDD? I had a friend who would had it and her emotional symptoms each month were especially difficult for her and her dr. was able to help but I am not sure what she takes.

Edt. PPMD to PMPD to PMDD oops.

I haven't, but think I might do that.  Thanks for the info.

  • Yep. It used to be worse, actually, when I was on bcp. I was "diagnosed" with PMDD and was prescribed meds that were basically antidepressants. I took them for about a month and felt more crazy. That was about 8 years ago. It has been better since I've been off bcp for the last 3 yrs, but I get some wicked biitchiness every so often. I second the St. Johns Wort. Try to eat healthy and get exercise - exercise gets your endorphines moving and helps with mood.

    Yep, that's our bullmastiff, Otis!

  • I just let the b1tch out. I feel much better that way. I also have PMDD, but mine is more anxiety.

St. John's Wort cannot be used while TTC or pregnant, and can  be a dangerous herb when/if taken with other medications and foods. It interacts with a lot.

I just want to reiterate that my doctor told me NOT to take this while TTC...
