Hi Ladies. A good friend of mine is an account exec at the Blood and Tissue Centers of Texas, and they are experiencing a critical shortage of blood right now. I told her I'd help her try to get the word out so I'm reposting this here for her:

"Due to several recent accidents and tragedies in our community, the Blood Center of Central Texas is currently in CRITICAL need of O negative, O positive, and A positive blood types. Our local patients need your life saving gift and we need to maintain a stable blood supply for our community!

Take the time to donate blood at a Donor Center or mobile blood drive as soon as possible! Make an appointment online today or call 512-206-1266. Walk-ins are always welcome"

Are they still using the big collection bags (the ones that require the donor to weigh 120+)? I was a regular donor until they made the switch... Sad face for the short person (me).

Found it on their site: All donors must be in good health, at least 17 years old, and weigh at least 115 pounds to donate whole blood or 110 pounds to donate platelets.
