No, not me (that I know of!). I was talking with a girlfriend of mine the other day and she was discussing her chemical pregnancy with me (she helped me a lot with mine in Nov). She was saying that when she had hers, that she didn't even know she was pregnant b/c a week prior to that, when she was expecting her period, she spotted for a few days. She figured it was a light period, and that was it. A week later she started bleeding heavily and realized it was a c/p.
I've also heard this a lot on the board and other places, with women spotting when they expect AF but then getting +HPT (not necessarily with the c/p part). Can someone explain this to me? It doesn't seem like that would be implantation bleeding, right? Just curious, as I go through this TTC thing, I learn so new much stuff! Thanks!
Re: Questions about spotting and KU
This is what I was thinking. Did she ever get a positive HPT?
I'm not sure why some people have spotting w/ their BFP. I'm interested in knowing why as well.

Sometimes when you're pregnant, you spot...I'm not sure what you're looking for so forgive me if I don't quite answer your question.
Sometimes there's reasons you spot when you're pregnant, and sometimes there aren't. I spotted on and off through the first 9 weeks of my pregnancy. Sometimes sex can irritate your cervix, which is more sensitive. Sometimes you have the pockets of blood ( I don't remember what they're called- hema-something?) that can randomly bleed. It can be a 'threatened miscarriage', and sometimes it's not.
I usually start spotting around 3dpo. Both my BFP cycles I didn't spot until later and it was very light, just a bit of brown. I don't know if it was implantation, my low progesterone or just spotting for shiggles.
You can call it whatever you want but there really is no way to know if it's implantation of due to something else.
I also agree with GM, if your friend did not get a + test between her spotting & period then she cannot claim she had a c/p. Plenty of people have random midcycle spotting.
Yes, she went to the doctor immediately and they checked her levels - there was enough hcg in there to determine she was pregnant, but the levels at that point were low. They were trying to get pregnant, and it was their first month, so she didn't think it would happen that fast.
I'm basically asking why some women experience spotting when they get their BFP, that happens to coincide with when AF was due. I didn't experience it with my last positive test, but I see it come across here often and then my conversation last night made me think of it again, so I thought I'd ask here.

a number of reasons cause spotting, implantation, low progesterone, massive hormonal changes, changes to the cervix, irrirated cervix.

Yep, thanks. It's what I get for typing up a response quickly without stopping and thinking
The only word that wouldn't get out of my head was hemoglobin. Haha.
With DD, I spotted once each at 6 and 7 weeks. It was heavy spotting but not quite light AF, and it ended quickly.
With my c/p last cycle, I spotted VERY, VERY lightly for about 3 days before getting a BFP, two days after, and starting AF-like bleeding the next day.
I spotted last night and this morning (8-9 DPO).
Those are the only instances in which I've spotted and it hasn't been immediately before or immediately after AF.
Not sure what your question is, but spotting is common whether you're KU or not, and sometimes it "means" something (like a m/c may be forthcoming) and sometimes it doesn't.

I spotted enough to fill up one tampon the exact day AF was due. I even changed FF to say I got my period and to start a new cycle. The spotting went away and I got my BFP 3 days later. Knock on wood, everything is going well and my doctor said it is nothing to worry about.
She did miscarry (confirmed by a doctor), and then proceeded to have 3 subsequent miscarriages that same year, including an ectopic pregnancy and 2 separate later 1st tri miscarriages. So no, she's not "basically telling everyone she miscarried".

I completely missed your BFP announcement way back when, so late congrats to you! Glad everything is going well for you!

I guess so. I did clarify earlier that her doctor confirmed, but I guess people don't read all the posts (I know I'm guilty of that). Oh well.....

This. Settle down there, tiger. We get a lot of folks around these parts that claim a CP when they were never PG. Which is a little offensive to others, including myself and apparently your friend as well. If you want people to know that, put it in the OP. Thanks.

I'm settled and not upset. I also had a c/p, so I understand.
