QOTD for Wednedsay

If you could give your kid one award, certificate or proclamation what would it be and why?  Have fun and be creative.

Re: QOTD for Wednedsay

  • King Of "No"  - I'm don't think this one needs an explanation.  He says no to just about everything these days.

Smooth "Operator" - He loves grabbing the phone, dialing a bad number and listening to the operator come on and talk to him.  Then he even grooves to the alert tone it gives at the end.  Cracks me up every single time.

  • I love it, especially the Smooth Operator!!!

"No Glasses" McGee - because, right now, i apparently am not to keep glasses on my face - she constantly (CONSTANTLY!) takes them off my face. I'm going to stick to contacts for a while.

Princess Cheer-Up - One of the things i LOVE about DD is that she's got a sunny disposition and smiles at EVERYONE. I have yet to see someone immune to her smile - i even had an old classmate tell me that she looked up DD's picture on FB when she was having a bad day because her smile was so infectious :-)

  • Speedy Gonzalez- this little boy RUNS all the time. He never walks, his mantra is certainly to be the fastest :)

and One Tough Cookie- he is battling this stomach bug thing but he is still being upbeat and pleasant.

  • The Techie - M loves any sort of technology/gadget, especially if it has buttons to push. He'll go for phones (cell or regular), remote controls, cameras, and the buttons on our TV/DVD player/DVR.

Tiny Dancer - He loves to dance to music, including the music from his toys. It's really cute.
AlternaTickers - Cool, free Web tickers
  • "Diaper Change" Devil - he hates diaper changes with the passion of a thousand fiery sons. You'd think we were torturing him just putting a diaper on.

Crib Jumper Extraordinaire- His crib is apparently the coolest place to be. Any time we're in the nursery that's the only place he wants to go. He's developed a love for jumping up and down in it. The look on his face is priceless and it pretty much makes it impossible to make him stop even though he's making it so we'll probably need a new crib whenever we have another baby!

  • too cute!

"Mr. I'd rather do goofy tricks than say any words" - DS will do all types of silly faces/moves/sounds with his hands, lips, mouth, etc.  from clacking his tounge on the roof of his mouth to flipping his lip with his finger, blowing rasperries, going ah ah ah while cupping his hand over his mouth, etc.  he has mastered so many funny things, yet barely any words, lol.  I think he thinks these gestures are his own language!  He will do anything over and over to get us to laugh or do the gesture back.

"Mr. I'll eat anything"  literally, we haven't found anything he outright refuses, it's still amazing us.

  • DD#1 - Miss Personality - The girl cracks me up. She can be super sweet and endearing, a show-off, bossy, sassy, mature, funny depending on her mood. Her gestures and mannerisms are so much like an adult sometimes.

DD#2 - The Bulldozer. DD#2 is so physically aggressive. She just started crawling this weekend and she just wants to bulldoze through anything. When she's on the changing table, she wants to sit up and roll-right off. It's so hard for me to get her ready in the morning because she's always grabbing at my hair, necklace, bracelets, etc.

  • Hypochondriac of the Year: This kid looooves Motrin. At least once I week I hear "I'm sick. I don't feel good. I need medicine.", with no discernible symptoms.

Little Napoleon: Kid is on a bossypants streak. "You sit here. No, not there. Here. This is your spot." "I want that. Share with me." And many, many other directions and demands.

  • The Button Pushing Wonder - if it (remotes, phones, toys, stereos, computer keyboards, etc.) has a button, he will find it, and press it over and over and over and over and over and over and over.  And then he will press it some more.  This goes for buttons on clothes too.

Strasburg In Training - C loves throwing small toys, and then chasing after them.  He loves the noises they make as they bounce on the floor, how far they go, if they roll or skid...and he laughs each time he throws.

Magneto - the boy thinks that magnets on the fridge are fascinating.  He loves pulling them off (and then throwing them, of course), seeing what they stick to, which side sticks, which magnets are stronger than others, etc.

  • Sir Isaac Newton, Jr. - J is fascinated with gravity! Everything is better when it drops. I got about 10 minutes of hysterical laughter by repeatedly handing him his sock monkey and letting him drop it out of the crib. Sometimes sock monkey hit a bucket, sometimes he hit the floor, but it was always funny.

  • Best Dramatic Acting for a Tantrum - self-explanatory.

The Artful Staller - DS has just discovered the wonder of stalling by demanding a  million different variations on a theme (no green cup, blue cup, etc).

  • DD: Little Miss Wide Awake.  When she falls asleep, she is a great sleeper, sleeping all the way through the night and taking 2-3 hour naps - but oh, to get to sleep.  There is another story, cuddle me a minute, milk, cuddle me a minute, we forgot to sing X song, cuddle me a minute, potty time.... and on and on and on....

DS: We call him Destructor.  No explanation needed.

  • DS is a "grunter" - while he has a vocab of close to 50 words, he prefers to grunt at everything. He is also a "thrower" and takes great glee in throwing stuff, then pointing and grunting at the item he threw, he throws toys off the 2nd floor and food off the high chair and everything in between. He's also a "monkey" - he loves to climb (he can climb into the high chair by himself) and copy DD.

DD is "Ms. Bossy" as she loves to tell everyone what to do. She is also "a master negotiator" and tries to bargain for everything.

  • Most Concerned About Cleanliness. Note that this does not mean he is actually clean.  But if a room is a mess (usually his doing) or something is spilled (usually his doing) or something is dirty (usually his doing), he wants to alert you ASAP so you can fix the situation. He can also spend a good 30 min. sweeping or dusting.

I have had a little luck training him to get a dish towel, wipe up whatever he's spilled & then put the towel in the hamper instead of harassing me in the middle of me cooking or something over a few drops of water.

  • The Stare Down Queen - DD loves to stare at strangers, to the point where I think it makes them uncomfortable. If we're at a restaurant she will be laughing and smiling at us and the minute the waitress comes over, she'll get her super serious face on and stare at her wherever she goes until she leaves the table. It's hilarious and a little unsettling...

The Flapper - DD bats at anything she doesn't want. If we're trying to give her a bottle or food and she doesn't want it she'll flap her arms in front of her face really fast and laugh. It cracks us up every time.

  • The King of Guilt trips:

He is AWESOME at them, what can I say?  He does it even without knowing sometime.  When DD was born, I overheard him talking to his stuffed animals:  "I'm glad you love me Mickey, because Mommy and Daddy don't"

The day I quit BFing cold turkey it was because DD was eating for 30 minutes every hour and DS told me that I didn't love him because all I did was feed DD.

I can't remember any more examples right now, but there are many.  They aren't all related to DD.  :-P

    Also, Mr. Melodrama:

He's good at it, particularly declaring that he'll never do anything ever again.  For example, after he got his flu shot, he declared that he'd never walk again.  If I ask him to stop putting his fork in his cup at dinner, he'll declare that he can't ever drink or eat again because he can't put his fork in his cup.
