I haven't been on in a while because life has been busy with classes and full-time work. On Friday, my daughter started doing this headbanging motion and her eyes would look up when she was doing it. I thought that she just learned a new trick and didn't think anything of it. On Sunday, we go to my mom's house, and she sees Lily doing the headbanging thing. She looked at me and said, "that's what you and your sister would do when you were having your seizures." So, I call the doctor's office on Monday morning, and he said that it is very unusual for a child to "headbang" when they are not throwing a temper tantrum (she does this when she is content and playing, not when she is mad). So, we have an EEG scheduled, but it's not until Feb. 21. I would really appreciate prayers. Thank you.

Re: Prayers for my daughter please
Oh my goodness!!! I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Thoughts and prayers for sure coming your way. Ugh--waiting sucks so badly, doesn't it?? At least in the meantime maybe you can keep a journal of when she's doing it--how long it lasts--etc so that they have more info to go off of.

Prayers and good thoughts sent your way!
I hope it all works out.
That said, it's not that uncommon for kids to bang their heads on the floor and into stuff not only when frustrated but in normal play too.. It's actually a "milestone" on my pedi list. I know my LO bangs her head into the crib slats...like she thinks it's fun.
DId you tell them you would take an earlier appt if there is a cancellation? My older son has febrile seizures and when he needed to be seen by a neuro, the nurse gave us the first appt available which was in 2 months but put us on the list to be called if there was a cancellation. A couple days later, they called and told us that they had an opening for the following week.
Best of luck to you.
That's what my ped said too, but she isn't banging her head into things. She's just headbanging like she's trying out for an 80s hairband. The part that concerned him was that she looks up while she is doing it. She also stares at things for 30 seconds at a time, and then she'll refocus like she was in a daydream or something. He just wants to rule it out because my mom, my sister, and I all had a seizure disorder as a baby.
