Thought this would be more appropriate to ask on the bump rather than the nest, but Dr. Walker isn't on the list of doctors anymore at Cap Women's Care, for any location. Of course. Because I liked her. Anyone know if she's gone for sure?
I don't want to be put on the spot to pick a new doc when I call to schedule my annual appt... who else would you recommend at the Fairfax (Chain Bridge Rd.) location?
It lists:
Stern
Rothschild
Hou
Tran <-- wasn't taking new patients last year when I asked
Kusic
Hibshman
Master
Stas
Kelly
TIA!
Re: did Dr. Walker leave CWC (Fairfax)?
I can't say enough good things about Drs. Hou, Tran, Kusic, Hibshman, and Stas. They were my docs (along with Dr. Walker) when I was pregnant. Dr. Kusic is my main doc. He's quirky but so nice and takes so much time with you. When I was on hospital BR, he would come and sit with me to answer all my questions. He even came into the hospital on Memorial Day (his day off) to meet me when I got sick.
Dr. Stas delivered my kids, and she was incredible too, especially when I was freaking out about the c/s. Dr. Hibshman is probably the most like Dr. Walker--young, cool woman and super, duper nice. Dr. Hou is more straightforward, but he is also great. I like Dr. Tran a lot too, but if she's not taking new patients, you still have other good choices.
Obviously, I really like this practice. I saw at least one of the docs daily during parts of my pregnancy so I got to know all of them.
Yes. She's gone. She left around the week I delivered (Labor Day) after I had been seeing her most of my pregnancy. I forget the name, but the practice she is in now delivers at Fair Oaks.
If you're looking for another doctor in the Fairfax practice, I really like Hibshman. She ultimately did my c section. Like Walker, she is upbeat and has a good bedside manner. Very fun. The nurses in the practice seem to like her as well. She may still be out on maternity leave though.
Kusic is a little goofy, but good. Probably the most receptive to natural birth if that is something you are considering.
Dr. Tran is supposed to be the go to if you have PCOS and the reason I chose that practice. Ironically, I like her the least. In many ways, she reminds me (and DH) of Dr. Yang on Grey's Anatomy. Very very smart and probably the doctor I would want if I had a serious issue, but very brusk bedside manner.
Kelly is brand new, so I haven't met her. Stas is fine. Hou is fine as well. I would probably rate those two equally.
I'll probably schedule my next annual exam with Dr. Kusic, who delivered DD, but I liked all the doctors I saw there while I was pregnant (Tran, Stas, Kelly, Hou). You'd probably get an appointment soonest with Dr. Rothschild because he no longer does OB appointments, just Gyn. I saw him last year for my annual exam, and he was just fine. I just feel like I know the other doctors better now.
I really like this practice - I delivered DD last year, so had appts with everyone there except Kelly, who is new. I adore Hibshman, and the rest are all great as well. The funny thing is that I was initially lukewarm on Stas in my appts, but she ended up delivering my daughter and was fantastic. She's now one of my favorites. Honestly, Walker was my least favorite, as one day when I came in late in pregnancy, I was told somewhat nastily by her of the "do's and don'ts" for late pregnancy, i.e. don't call if x happens, don't wait to call if y happens..." It was good information, but delivered in a way that made me think the patient before me had pissed her off and I was getting the brunt of it. A shame since I initially had liked her. After that, all I could think was "Oh boy, let it be ANY of them except Walker at delivery!" Anyway, Stas and Hibshman are my favorites. The rest are very good, but I think Dr. Stern is only GYN now, not OB as he nears retirement.
Thanks for the great info, everyone!
I had only seen Dr. Walker once, but I clicked with her. Of course, not being pg, I had no reason to get to know anyone else?or to experience Dr. Walker long-term. I'm sure I'll find someone else I'll like. I just hate starting from scratch again.
p.s. Dr. Policelli delivered me almost 30 years ago.

I have had really great experiences with this practice. Walker has left, but in my opinion Kelly more than makes up for it. I had a very delicate situation recently and she was amazing. Really kind and really supportive. Stas delivered DS and I like her too. Not a fan of Hibshman as of late. Used to really like her but after a very misleading u/s I will no longer she her.
For my annual I see Rothshild. It's super easy to get appts. with him and I figure I'll leave the OB to the OBs and see the GYNs for the GYN stuff.
