I used the moby for DD when she was younger, I got a seven sling for free from a friend that I've been using since she started walking. It's getting difficult to use the seven sling because my pregnant belly is in the way. I'd also like something that she would be happy hanging out in once the new baby is born (she'll be 19-20 months old). I've heard good things about the Ergo, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much. Can someone recommend a good carrier or convince me that the ergo is worth it?
Re: If you still babywear...
I love my ergo sport, I highly recommend it.
It's well worth the price, imo. If I only had to buy one piece of baby gear, I would pick the ergo all over again.
Have you checked craigslist for a used one? Or you can check out thebabywearer.com's FSOT forum. You have to create an account but it's a great place to purchase used carriers.
eta: FWIW, I paid full price for my ergo and I would spend the same money on it all over again.

I was going to post the exact same thing! I love mine & still use it with my big boy & will definitely use it if we have another baby. Well worth the money.
The Ergo is totally worth it. It is the most comfortable way to transport my toddler anywhere. He hates the stroller and for a while when we were walking the dog he wanted us to bring the stroller and let him walk, so he was walking and I would push the empty stroller (sometimes with stuffed toys in it) and hold the leash and try to keep the kid on the sidewalk. Recently I've convinced him that riding on my back is fun (he took a long break from babywearing when he was learning to walk/run). So that made walking the dog a lot easier. He's 26+ pounds and it's still very comfortable and easy to get on and off.
Also, we have a new baby now (my son was 22 months when she was born) and I can totally rock the Moby/Ergo combo and wear them both at the same time. I wrap the Moby, strap on the Ergo, hoist my son up and in and then snuggle the baby into the Moby and off we go to walk the dog. It's as comfortable as carrying 40ish extra pounds can possibly be. Oh, and the infant insert for the Ergo is totally unnecessary unless you have a rediculously tiny baby or health problems. I carried the new one in there last week (she was 4 weeks) and felt totally comfortable with it. I still generally prefer the Moby for the tiny weeks though.
