Ok, so we had our four month shots yesterday. and I'd like to blame that, but this started Sunday night... LO doesn't seem interested in his bottle all of a sudden. Spitting it out, playing with it in his mouth, basically anything but eating the damn formula. He's gone from taking 5 oz every 3 hours during the day to about 3 oz if we're lucky. Like I said, I first noticed it the night before 4 months shots, so as much as I'd like to blame that, I don't think that's it. He's otherwise happy. And not fussy in between. I tried a faster flow nipple (we're using medium with the playtex drop ins system), but it didn't make a difference. So WTH? And when should I worry? Like I said, he's otherwise happy and not fussing in between. But he's just not eating much... we did switch to soy formula last week because pedi thought we had a formula allergy. his skin is totally cleared up. And he didn't seem to notice the formula switch (which was 6 days ago now) but all of a sudden he just won't eat. Any thoughts??

Re: XP: Not Hungry?
I thought about the teething thing...
Argh. I just don't like not knowing what's going on! lol. Thanks for your answer though, it helps to know other people have dealt with it. And like I said, he seems happy otherwise, so I guess it will pass when it does... I just wish there were definitive answers in situations like these! Sometimes being a FTM sucks! lol
It could be the formula switch. We had to switch formula bc he was so gassy (proven via ultrasound) that he literally had no room for anything more than an ounce or so every few hours. He was still happy and took naps and such but just went from eating 28 oz a day to 18 oz and then to 10 over the course of about four days.
I read this somewhere the other day but, of course, can't remember where. I think it said that eating less than half of their normal amt is when you should call the doctor.
I brought DD to the pedi today for the same issue. Nurse on phone suspected it could be an ear infection as well...I thought it was teething. She doesn't get her 4mo shots until next week, hasn't had any fever and hasn't had any reflux issues. Pedi said she looked fine. He checked ears, nose, throat and all was OK. He said her gums were only slightly inflamed. He said the same thing as others have said, could just be a phase. On top of the eating, she's sleeping from 8/8:30pm to 3:30/4:30am instead of 5:30/6am. He also said this could be part of the phase
She wakes up perky though, not crying and not overly hungry. We had even attempted to add an additional nighttime feeding just before bed, but it didn't change a thing. The odd thing is that some bottles go down great...others are a complete chore and sometimes she gets very fussy, but she still acts hungry when I try to put it back in her mouth every few minutes.
His recommendation was to start on cereal, which I assumed we were doing next week anyway. We tried tonight, and DD was just about as interested in the cereal as she was in the bottle at that particular point. She starts daycare in two weeks, and I'm worried the "phase" won't end by then.
