TTC after promotion at work

Hi Ladies,

I'm new to TB and I could use some advice. My husband and I are very excited to start a family. We've decided to start trying at the beginning of this month. I can't help but feel some guilt because I just recently accepted a promotion at work. My boss is amazing and I know she will be excited for me and understand where I'm at. I just keep thinking that I won't even be in this position for a whole year before I have to take 3 months off for maternity leave. Another piece of information you should know is that I've been with the company for 5 years and am very dedicated. What are your thoughts/suggestions on how to kick this guilty feeling? Thanks in advance!

I don't think you should feel guilty at all. If you are dedicated to your job, it will be there when you get back from maternity leave. Also, remember, it could take several months to conceive. Keep doing your job to the best of your ability, but live your life outside of work.

You have absolutely no reason to feel guilty in my opinion. Family comes first.

Absolutely, and I probably came across as a work-aholic, which is definitely not the case. I also realize it could take a while to conceive. I'll just keep my fingers crossed!
