Austin Babies

Vivian's okay!

Thanks for the reassurance last night.  We saw her pedi at 11 today.  The nurse and doctor definitely acted concerned, so cue major panic.  Didn't help much when the fire alarms went off mid-exam, while Vivi was in nothing but a diaper, and we had to head toward the back door before the alarms shut off and they declared a false alarm.  However, I'm glad they were so thorough with their concern and testing.  They did a complete blood panel and already called to say everything is very normal.  Still waiting on some thyroid and ANA results, but those would be minor if they're an issue at all.  She thinks V just has really sensitive skin and bruises easily.  Thank God!

Thanks for your kind words in my OP!  Bumpie Dust is no joke!

  • In lieu of a Mexican grito, which I've yet to figure out how to represent orthographically, I give you a "hip hip hooray!"
  • I missed a lot this weekend and had to go back to find the OP. So glad to hear it turned out ok!
  • So glad it's nothing major!

  • Hooray!  I went and read the OP and was going to tell you that I have always bruised easily, even as a kid.  I was hoping this was just the case for V, too.  (FWIW, I started taking more Vitamin C and that seems to help.  I don't know if that's good for kiddos, though.)

Snort.  Thanks.  Now I have to google "Mexican grito".  And also "orthographically".  YOU THINK I HAVE TIME FOR THIS?

Thanks! That's actually one of the things the doc mentioned - upping Vit C and D.  And cutting back a bit on milk if the tests had showed her to be anemic (they didn't) - I guess too much milk makes kids low in iron.
