If LO has sleepovers...

Ffejsgirl got me thinking - if LO sleeps away from you, what's the set up?

Is it at your house? Is it at their house? Who's house? Where does LO sleep when there?

Re: If LO has sleepovers...

  • LO has only slept away from 1 night, and it was because I was in the hospital. Truth be told, we just havent done anything to require her to spend the night away yet.  My parents and sister all have cribs set up, and my IL's have the pack and play.   Thats pretty much how it would work.

  • I've done one night away for a wedding but my mom and Nanny and aunt all slept at my house.

JT slept great on vacation in July in the Pack and Play but I don't know if I could pull that off now. Hm.

W naps in the pack and play at my sisters, I think thats how we could pull it off for an all night sleep. Otherwise, I don't know if it would fly.  Im a nervous nelly, I dont know when she will spend the night away again. Probably not for awhile.

Although like ffeJ's sitation, a week sounds like pure heaven sometimes!!

  • Aiden stayed a week last summer at the inlaws and slept in a pack and play, even though he was 2. It's just a place to sleep without them running around.

My parents live 3.5 hours away and both still work full-time self-employed so it allows them to get to see the kids for longer when they just go and stay. And my Granny and sisters help watch them as well when they are there.

Aiden stays at my parents anywhere from 3-8 days at a time every 3 months or so. And Emily has stayed there twice with him for a week. Aiden sleeps in my old crib (yes it's been fixed by DH to be perfectly safe) in a spare room. Emily sleeps in another spare room in a pack and play.

If we go somewhere like a hotel or something Em sleeps in the pack and play and Aiden sleeps in bed with one of us.

  • K has spent 1 night away at a time a few times, either with my sister or mom, he always sleeps in a pack and play which seems to work out well.

  • Joshua has spent several nights with my in-laws.  He sleeps in the pack'n'play I have there for him.  He & I spent one night at my parents when I had a late business dinner closer to their house than mine and an early morning where I would have had to taken him to them anyways.  He has a pack'n'play there for naps during the day.  He slept in one for a week during our summer vacation at a cousin's house. When he was three weeks old we went out of town for a night and he just slept in the bed with us.

  • Makenzie only stayed away one night.  It was at her Gram's house, and she slept in PnP.  The PnP pretty much stays in the van for overnight trips to my parents or wherever.

  • Cooper has only slept at my Mom's house.  She has a whole set up over there.  It's really nice to not worry about taking anything over to my moms house.

  • We've never been away from her for the night, but when we travel she sleeps in the PNP. She won't sleep at people's houses. We've tried multiple times and it has been an epic fail every time. We decided to not visit anyone until we're confident it won't happen again. She does great at hotels though. We put her in the PNP, hop in bed and pretend to go to sleep, and she's out within minutes.

The ILs want the four of us to come out for Christmas. That is not happening (they don't know this yet). There's no effing way I'm taking a 6 month old and a 2 year old clear across the country with all their gear.
