January 2011 Moms

1 yr stats

20 pounds, 5 ounces, 29 inches long. Head is still 95th percentile, no cause for concern, and over all she is 28th percentile. She is pretty consistant with growth.

She was happy with where Whitney is at. Didnt have to go the blood draw to check for anemia, she said we will do it at 15 months, since she has been on formula and its probably fine.

This was great news, because W held her breath so long from the shots, she turned purple.  Poor thing.

  • Awe poor Whitney! Glad everything looked great. Hate to think of her crying though.

I'm getting anxious to see how big Em is now. I just scheduled today for February 1st.

  • Aweeeeeee! I'm glad everything was great. Stella is a whopping 24lbs. She's only 9lbs less than her brother. Yeah she's a moose.

  • Poor girl! I'm glad you were able to avoid the blood test for now. Do you know if your doc does a finger prick or an actual vain stick? I've heard it varies.

DD is on formula too, but my pedi does it at 12 months regardless. They had her results back before we even left the building and she was (of course) fine. I think they may also check for lead? I forgot to ask, but there are a lot of old buildings around her being constantly restored so the pedis are pretty careful about that.

Yes our pedi also checks for lead for the blood draw. We had to go to an outside lab and they took it out of her heel.

I didnt ask how they draw the blood, but when they did blood work when she was little they did it from the heel. I hope its the same!

Yes, I did have to answer a lengthy questionarie about paint. I thought that was odd, but now it makes sense.

One question the pedi asked which I had never been asked before, was if there are guns in the house.   I didn't expect that one. I was thinking about it on the drive home, I guess it is a very good question for the people who are careless with firearms!

  • 22 lb 12 oz (50th percentile), 30.5 inches (75th percentile)

We have to schedule at the lab for blood work.

We didn't get to do shots because of the ear infection :( I wish we got them over with. He had a reaction last time so I'm expecting the same again.
