Anyone run? I signed up for a 1/2 marathon for the end of February before getting my bfp. Great timing, lol. Last week I didn't feel like getting off the couch and if I did it was because I thought I was going to hurl. So, I haven't been keeping up with my running.
Anyone still running? I did 30 minutes on the elliptical last night and I feel 1,000 times better, so I will probably get back into the swing of things minus the long runs.

Yes, I run. I signed up for a 10K in early March before my BFP. I was nervous at first to continue but I'm not running at full speed and I'm not over excerting myself. I work out regularly and will continue throughout my pregnancy.
I think you should be fine but you may want to mention it to your DR either way.

I signed up for a half marathon on March 8th which I'm still planning on doing (albeit significantly slower than previously planned). I did 11km on Saturday and 14.5km on Sunday, just much slower and taking walk breaks when I got tired.
I'm hoping to run for as much of my pregnancy as I can, and maintain some kind of activity if running become impossible. No marathons for me this year though!
I love to run and workout on the elliptical.. what does confuse me though is my doctor ttelling me I had to keep my heartrate at 140.. which is very low for me when I work out and run!
I am not sure if anyone else has been told this!?!?!?
I've not been told this, but I have read it somewhere. Keeping my heart rate around 140 would be really difficult for me as my heart rate tends to soar (170-190's) when I run. It dips back down quickly but goes up fast. I think as long as you're not pushing yourself, not doing sprint workouts or intense hill training then you should be fine. Just nice and slow and steady
That heartrate advice is really outdated. You should be able to speak a few sentences, so as long as you're not overdoing it, you will be fine.
As to running, I usually do a few miles here and there, but I've been so tired. I'm hoping to get my a$$ to the gym this weekend at least.
I'm a runner. Before the BFP, I signed up for two back-to-back 5Ks to work on speed (including one this weekend). I'm still gonna do both, but I'm not worrying about my times.
Still go to the gym at least 4 days a week, but I'm taking it a little easier until I meet with my doc next week to discuss things. I'd like to do a half marathon in April, and I'm hoping to get the clearance to do so.
If you were active before the BFP, you should still stay active. Just don't overexert yourself! Be safe :-)
THANK YOU SO MUCH LADIES!!!! that helps so much ! I appreciate that advice and that is what I am going to keep doing.. Going for my blood work today!

I am. I am doing a half in March, but have not signed up for any more races this spring. I can't decide if I want to put myself through not competing. I do intend on completing the half.
My running has been spotty for the past 2 weeks because of the extreme exhaustion I have been facing, but I felt better all weekend and was able to get in some decent runs without feeling like crap.
