Only 2 teeth - meat?

DS only has 2 teeth, which is making me very nervous in terms of giving him finger foods - particularly meat.  What's the best way to serve meat to LO's who have so few teeth?   He is starting to refuse purees, so I need to figure out something.

DD had 6 teeth when she was DS's age, so I didn't run into this issue with her...

  • Evie has no teeth and I give her meat, so I wouldn't worry. :) I've given her ground beef, ground turkey, and shredded chicken, and she did great with all of them. Ground meat is nice and easy for baby, maybe start there?

  • My dd only has 2 teeth and she eats meat.  I am in the same boat as you-ds had a ton of teeth by this age, and like 20 by the time he was a little over a year (and he LOVED purees and didn't like people food, so...).  Anyway, dd eats ground beef, chicken, turkey, and deli meat (not often).  I just put it in small pieces.

  • My son has his two lower incisors and a partially erupted lower canine. I usually dice or shred his meat. But lately he has been eating his chicken straight off the bone with no issues at all, he actually likes it better that way.
