I have a new friend...

I have a secret that I have been hiding since Saturday... Nope, not pg.. LOL.  My house was very quiet and sad since losing Riley and I HATED it.  DH agreed to let me get a new baby..

 Introducing Grady!!

He is a total snuggle bunny and makes me smile! We adopted him from a rescue on Saturday. He is about 5-6 months old. Another family was first in line to get him based on the receipt of their application but fortunately they were unable to get to the shelter due to their kids' basketball games so I was able to get him!

I know some might think it is wrong to get a new pet so fast but I don't look at it like I'm replacing Riley.  I just need someone to love and happiness has been hard to come by lately for me. So, I think Riley would approve.

    No judgement here....adorable.  Hope that you get many, many years of snuggles.....you deserve it!  I bet Riley would approve and only want the best for you.
    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    And I am sure that Riley would approve.  I don't think that anyone would ever suggest that it's too soon or that you were replacing RIley.

     I absolutely approve! Grady look just like our little Bill, who is now 1 and 1/2 and so cute and so much trouble.  Orange boy kitties are great.  Riley approves too, I'm sure of it. You've been through enough as it is--you deserve something to make you smile.

    me - 41 (dx: DOR); DH - 53 (no problems); 7/18/09 - married!; 8/4/09 - BFP on first (real)try; 9/14/09 - missed m/c; 9/15/09 - d&c; 11/09 - 3/10 - 4 natural cycles = BFN; 4/10 - dx hyperthyroidism caused by Graves' disease; 6/10 - thyroidectomy; 7/10 - 12/10 - 1 natural and 5 medicated IUI cycles = BFN; 1/11 - new RE; dx low ovarian reserve (AMH .42; 1/26/11 -- BFP (ectopic) from IUI #6; methotrexate 2/10/11; 6/2/11 - IVF #1 = BFN; 9/12/11 - prescreening for DE; 9/15/11 - IUI #7 (unmedicated)= BFN; 11/8 - begin DE cycle (shared risk program); 12/5 - ER (5 eggs/4 mature/3 fertilized/2 left by day 5) 12/10 - ET of one 1BB blast (expanded, "fair" quality), none to freeze; 12/22 - totally shocked by +hpt; beta #1 = 413; #2 = 3952 2/14 - CVS reveals a healthy baby girl! EDD: 8/27/12 DD born 8/31/12, 10 lbs 10 oz and perfect in every way.

    No judgement, you have a lot of furbaby love to give and I think it is great that you gave this little guy a great place to live.

    Multiple ectopics, 2 failed IVF's
    IVF #1: Did not get to ET, embies all failed PGD (major chromosomal defects)
    IVF #2: We have 2 chromosomally perfect embies as a result of PGD (Boy/Girl) 1 failed the thaw (Girl) Transferred 1, yet ended as a c/p
    Thought it was the end of our TTC Journey 6/20/2012
    SHOCK BFP 9/28/2012: IT'S A BOY! and everything is normal !!!!!!

    Little A born 38w 2d on 05/23/13 and is a true miracle for this IF Vet!

    Single Mother by Choice. Life didn't work out the way I planned so I did it on my own. IUI #s 1-3, unmedicated = BFN, IUI #s 4-6, 50mg Clomid, Ovidrel = BFN IVF #1: 23R, 20M, 17F. 5 day transfer 2 blasts. 2 Snowbabies BFP 6dp5dt, Beta #1 7dp5dt = 58, Beta #2 9dp5dt = 114, Beta #3 10dp5dt = 187 1st Ultrasound = 5/3, not much to see yet. 2nd Ultrasound = 5/17, TWINS!!!     Oh McIrish what a beautiful, sweet new friend you have! I completely understand getting a new kitty baby so soon, and he looks irresistable!  Enjoy him :) 

    TTC since 3/2010. Me 41, DH-49. After 3 years, 6 IUIs and several IVFs we have finally have our beautiful baby girl, born on 11/7/13.

    Good for you, McIrish!  Grady's love and the laughter he will bring will help heal the pain from your recent loss, but you're right, nothing will ever replace Riley or the love you had for that kitty!  Wishing you many happy years with Grady!

    Oh McIrish...Grady is adorable!  Love his name by the way.  Also, I think Riley has more than given his blessing...I think he made sure the other potential owners for Grady had a basketball game to keep them from getting your new little fella!  I think Riley brought Grady to you for comfort and companionship and brought you to Grady because he knows first hand that you are the best mom a furbaby can have.  Enjoy him!

    Yeah!!!!! He is a very handsome ginger boy. Although there is loss....it is so great to have someone to come home to.....well other than the DH that is....LOL.

    It just proves that we have room in our hearts to love many!!!!!

    Me: FSH 13.4 + AMH 0.26 + hypothyroidism; Scratch the hypothyrodism (?); Blood clotting and immune panel all negative; endometrial biopsy normal

    IVF #1 (MDLF - Jul/Aug 2011): BFN (9R, 5M, 3F with ICSI, 3dt of 1 10-cell grade 2, no frosties)
    IVF #2 (EP-antagonist - Sep/Oct 2011): BFN (6R, 4M, 3F w/ ICSI, 3dt of 1 6-cell, 1 7-cell, grade 4s, no frosties)
    DE IVF #1 (shared cycle - June 2012): c/p (6R, 6F w/ICSI, 3dt 1 8-cell grade A- and 1 7-cell grade A-; no frosties)
    DE IVF #2 (shared cycle with new donor - Nov/Dec/ 2012): - BFP!!!!! 12/14/12. U/S on 12/27 shows twins!!!!!

    me (36): Hypothyroid (on Levothroid), low vit. d, borderline/high fsh (day 3: between 7-10) (day 10: 13 during CCCT), AFC: 14
    dh (31): awesome (minus one sample with agglutination)
    Diagnosis:possible DOR and/or unexplained + elevated NK cells + MTHFR (C677T - one copy)

    MAY 2011 - FEB 2012 - 3 injectable IUI's with numerous cancellations due to high TSH levels
    MAY 2012 - onto IVF/ICSI (Antagonist Protocol) on BCP and Folgard (3 week delay - cyst - boooo) 5/21 start stims 5/30 ER 11R 8M 3F 6/2 3DT of 3 6/12 Beta #1 83 | 6/14 Beta #2 196 | 6/21 Beta #3 3818 | 6/28 Beta #4 22,213 | 7/2 1st U/S - 2 on board! 8/24 CVS reveals that we have a boy AND a girl on board!

    Healthy baby boy and girl born in February, 2013 at 38 weeks and 2 days!

    IVF #2: 11/12 cycle postponed due to Sandy and then cancelled due to elevated E2.
    IVF #2.1 cancelled due to cyst.
    IVF #2.2: 2/2/13. Converted to IUI. BFN
    IVF #3.0: 3/2014. BCP & Microdose Lupron.  Cycle cancelled due to poor response.
    IVF #4.0: 2/2015. EPP @ new RE. ER: 3/8. 3R, 3M, 1F. ET: 3/11 (1-8cell). 3/23 Beta: 16.9. 3/25 Beta: 71.6. 3/27 Beta: 300. 3/29 Beta: 800 3/31 Beta: 1816. 4/1 Beta: 4342. m/c at 6w2d. Goodbye little one. I loved you already.

    I just ordered him a four leaf clover id tag and got him a green collar. With his orange hair, he totally matches me and is an Irish cat! LOL

    Hooray for Grady!!!!! I am so happy for you, McIrish!  I adopted my current fuzzy love bug a month after my previous kitty passed away and haven't regretted it for a second.

    Ooh, cuteness!  I love the name and the green collar and Irish tag :)  I wholeheartedly agree with everyone who said that Riley would not only approve but probably helped arrange for you to be able to get Grady.  :)
