I'll be SUPER impressed if you can get those bad boys out of the molds in one piece.

indeed. That looks more like an ice cube tray. That would be tiny tiny cake.

  • You could just do a single cake in a one a la Martha Stewart. https://pinterest.com/pin/82894449361012901/
  • OH ALRIGHT.

  • can you just make a sheet cake and use a cookie cutter to cut out the 1's? maybe you could even make it thinner by putting one cake mix into two pans

eta: nevermind, just read the post below. ignore me.

BUT, how cool would it be to have "1" ice cubes?

yes, you are right.  this is necessary!

You could even make them colored - add a drop or 2 of food coloring to a large pitcher of water then pour into the mold. voila! Fancy :) Ditto PP's that the cake would fall apart when removing from these trays. AND they'd be a major pain to frost. (sorry :(

  • those molds are great for making candies/chocolates as cupcake toppers.  I used one like this for A's last party. I made lego brick cupcake toppers using the candy melts you can find at Hobby Lobby or Joannes.  I also used a similar mold and made crayons as part of the favors. Both really easy to do.
