For those of you who had your appmnt, did you LO have a reaction?  Pedi said this round is when most children have a reaction, of a rash.

Just curious.

    We haven't had Em's yet, but A had a low grade fever overnight. That was it.

    Speaking of a fever, I have got to get a reliable thermometer. The cheapie one I have is crap.

    Any recs?

    Pedi said that these shots have higher reports of reactions, but DD was actually pretty good. Usually she's a total crab, but this time she has dancing within seconds of getting home. No rash. If she had a temp, it wasn't enough to bust out the thermometer for.

    We have two digital Vicks thermometers.

    Ok, I will check out a vicks one. I think I have one that came in a kit, and another one I bought that was cheap. It always says my temp is like 95. I dont think thats right.

    I'm the worst mom ever and still use a digital rectal. I'm in the "it's the most accurate" camp. Although now that I don't change A's diaper anymore I can't see using it for him. I have an ear one that's a piece of crap. I need to get a new one too.

    We have the super well-recommended Braun ear one and it's kind of horrible.  Maybe I'm just dumb and am not using it right, but yeah.  I use that to see if she's generally elevated, and the rectal if I think we may need to bring her in.

    This exactly. I use a tiny bit of Vaseline as lube and DD doesn't even notice it's in there.

    Well thats good to know. I honestly did not know it was that easy. I might have to get one today.

    This is what we do but yesterday JT did cry a bit. I use a Swiss Army one that came in a kit.

    I bought an underarm one (Vicks) and it's crap.
