contractions, what do they feel like?

I never know if what I am feeling is a contraction or something else, how do you ladies tell?

Yesterday I thought I was having contractions 1 or 2 every hour, but then I had some diarreha incidents and assumed it was pains from that, not contractions. I sometimes have gas pains, maybe they are contractions.

Can you describe your contactions, BH and the real deal

so the contractions for me feel like menstrual cramps that start in my back and wrap around the front with tightening in my belly. BH just feels like tightening without any pains (some say they have pains with theirs, but I never have). There are times when I feel the cramps constantly for 45+ mins at a time and I have to count the contractions by the tightening.

My contractions feel like very intense pressure that I have to breathe through. The particularly strong ones make me feel a lot of pressure in my butt. They're not overly painful, but more uncomfortable. This was the same as with my son as well. I got the epidural at around 5cm last time around and my contractions never really felt painful.

The BH are like tight sensations and make my belly hard. The contractions feel like menstrual cramps very low in front. Sometimes I will also feel pressure in my cerix area during that time. They don't hurt yet but are definitely uncomfortable.

Haven't had any real contractions yet, but BH feel... I dunno, like something's vaguely off/weird? And then when I touch my belly, it's rock-hard all over (rather than just where the LO is!).

My contractions felt like I needed to poop really bad. Almost like stomach cramping as apposed to period cramping.

Thank you for posting this! I have never really had the chance to feel contractions with my other pregnancies, and had been wondering myself. (1rst-drugs almost immediately, 2nd after I was already at a 5 when I arrived, and 3rd was an induction with pain management for an external inversion...).

So yeah I've been feeling the same type of things as pp. Starts in the back and rotates to the front & takes my breath away sometimes. Thanks Ladies for the info!
