Baby has flipped!!! and other u/s news

Baby has flipped!!  I'm wondering though if the doctor was wrong the whole time because I never felt a big flip.  Head is not engaged, so there is a chance LO could flip back to breach.  Fingers crossed they LO stays in the right position.

I've had my head wrapped around a c/s and the probability of scheduling it for the next 2 weeks.  Its weird to think that LO could stay in for weeks now and I will not now when they are coming!!

LO is measuring 6 lbs 10oz.  Technician said they average about 1/2 lb a wk, putting us at about 8 lbs on our due date.  I know these can be way off - DD was estimated to be 7 lb at birth and came out 8lbs4oz.  Curious to see what my dr says on Friday about the size of this LO.

  • My little one flipped too!  Ultrasound tech said (and showed me) that it's head down and face back (where it should be).  Its head is practically sitting on my cervix - but she didn't say anything about being engaged or not.  How do I know that?  Here's good thoughts that our babies stay where they belong till they decide to come out!!

Our u/s tech said LO's head is floating.  It kinda sounds like your LO is engaged since the head is so close to the cervix??

  • Congrats!  So happy for you!!!  Try hanging out in squats and bouncing on a labor ball...that can help the baby move down.  That said- considering their heads are the heaviest part of their body, you are probably going to be fine.

8 lbs is a great size- please don't worry about it.  Besides, those u/s can be off by 2 lbs in either direction.

DD was 8lbs 4 oz, so I know I can do it ;)  They told me she would be around 7lbs!  Just worried if this LO hangs out longer than 'planned.'  All my early u/s said 2/12 was my EDD (I had a lot of early u/s because of a prior molar pregnancy), so LO might do a week or more extra, gaining even more weight.
