As someone who works with people with developmental disabilities (and, you know, a person with a heart) this makes me sick to my stomach.

    That is wrong on just so many levels!  That mother is amazing.  I am confident that she will get the transplant for her daughter but it's beyond frustrating what she will have to go through to do so.

    I agree! And hopefully some changes will be made because of this

    From working in the field as well, this breaks my heart to the core.  It is truly saddening and sickening at times, how some people in the medical field feel about people with developmental disabilities.  When I find a doctor who values and is awesome with our folks, I sing their praises, even though that is how every doctor should be.
