OMG! I am exhausted today, because the weekend was a complete whirlwind- not only did we have 3 birhtday parties, but we had to get stuff for baby #2. I just got rid of all our stuff- I sold our bouncer, swing, play mat, boppy, and donated pretty much all our baby clothes right before Christmas. At least we still have our infant car seat and the adapter for our Bugaboo stroller- DD HATES the stroller- she insists on walking everywhere- so for the time being we don't need a double stroller, which I was kinda bummed about- I LOVE the City Select!
But we managed to get a crib (which was our main goal), we went to our local baby store where we got DD's- usually you have to order them and they take 8 weeks to come in- but they had just gotten a beauitful Expresso colored Munire crib returned and they were trying to sell it without having to send it back to the warehouse, they gave us a great deal and and we ordered the matching changing table- which luckily is sitting at the warehouse and will be shipped in a week. YAY! I ordered the crib bedding and some other things online, then we hit of BRU and got a new boppy, and a bouncer. My friend is giving me her Little Lamb swing- it's barely been used- her son hated it- so I'm picking that up tonight. I picked up a few outfits at Carters and Gap- so at least we have a few things to get us buy- oh darn I have to buy all new baby girl clothes!!
So so we doing pretty good- now I have to clean out my office to make room for baby #2- that's going to be the hard part! I'm still not sure where all my office furniture is going to go- DH is going to have to share his office with me! I will say the fear is subsiding and we are getting more excited!
Re: Crazy weekend getting ready for baby #2!
Wow! You were able to accomplish a lot this weekend. I'm impressed!
I think it's so amazing that this is all happening and it just thrills me that you are giving your DD the gift of a sister...and her bio sister at that. It's such a huge gift! I can only imagine the whirl-wind you've been through the past few days but it's going to be worth it all when you are a complete family. So happy for you!
That's so awesome! Congratulations...I'm so happy for you guys.
When do you get her? Do you have a name yet?
We get her around Valentines Day- she is currently with our good friends who are licensed foster parents- they live very close to us so we get to see her just about everyday. As for names- we are still kicking some around- but the leader so far seems to be Kennedy Christine.
Sooooo exciting!!
Ack! So exciting. And I'm obviously biased, but I love the name Kennedy.
I'm so, so excited for you all. This is such a neat turn of events.
That sounds exciting and tiring at the same time! I am so so happy for you guys. You're going to love having two little ones. It's crazy and tiring, but so so rewarding and worth it when you see Claire interacting with her sister. I was wondering if you were going to end up naming her Kennedy. Obviously, you know I LOVE the name.
After two losses, third time was a charm.
