NPR: Do you have T & Ps to spare?

I know I am not an active poster, but I would greatly appreciate your thoughts and prayers.  DH and I have a beloved rescue dog who has been with us for 6 years.  He has been with us through so many major events in our lives - wedding, big move, pregnancy and baby, etc.  He is our first baby and so loved.  He is somewhere between 12-14 years old.  On Friday, he had a seizure in our home.  We rushed him to the vet and there is fear he has a brain tumor.  He has not recovered as well as hoped, and there is discussion that we may need to make a painful decision tomorrow.  He is on seizure medication but seems to have some neurological sequelae (high pitched yelping which they describe as a "dysphoric state", walking in circles).  We tried to see him yesterday, but he was not himself.  It was devastating to see him in that state. This decision is so painful and hard.  I do not want to give up on him, and he seems to come back to himself (he eats normally, will shake his head like our normal boy), but it is so hard to know since his true state since he is on so much medication. The vet wants to give him another night and perhaps a trial at home tomorrow to see how he does.  I would greatly appreciate any thoughts and prayers you can spare.  We are heartbroken.  Thank you.

    Of course!  I have two beloved elderly cats and I dread the day I may have to make a decision about them.  I hope he turns the corner and is doing better tomorrow.

    Hope your fur baby gets well soon.  We lost our dog and sweet kitty within 10 days of each other this summer.  It was so hard.  GL and I will be thinking of you.

    I'm late responding but I hope all goes well and your sweet puppy makes a full recovery.  We have a dear sweet old dog that just ....well...it's hard to seem them get old, isn't it?
