How many times a day...

do you want to tell people to go f*** themselves?

I swear this weekend I wanted to say "go f*** yourself" at least 7 times after someone said something asinine to me.

For example:

"Oh, you're showing already?"

"You should really work out"

"Oh, you think you're in your 2nd tri? That doesn't start until the end of your 14th week" (Yes, I know this is one way of calculating the trimesters but not the only way)

"You should go easy on that salt, you'll get high blood pressure"

I've been able to give respectful responses so far but one of these days I'm going to lose it.

What gems have you been getting?

  • Wow! I thought you must be 20 weeks! You're huge! You were so teeny with your first!  Gee, thanks.

  • "Oh, you're expecting?!  I just thought... (awkward look down at bump, clearly thinking 'I thought that was just fat')... well, good for you!"

Oh, this is by far my favorite:

"Joi, you must be having a girl this time because your butt wasn't wide like that when you were pregnant with Nathaniel."

    Yeah, from a COWORKER!

    NICE!

    Yeah, from a COWORKER!

My jaw would be on the floor! What are people thinking?!

I can't believe how many people - coworkers included - have been making comments about my breasts. Pre-pregnancy I was a 38D and now I'm a 38DD. In my opinion that's not a huge difference but people are freaking out over it. From a coworker I got "I bet your husband isn't complaining" - GROSS! STFU!

  • My favorite is when my mom comments on how the baby is only about two inches big and my stomach is huge, gee thanks mom
  • I posted on Twitter that I wanted to go home and drink Kool-Aid (was having a lousy workday) and this annoying girl I know on Twitter said, I loved drinking Kool-Aid when I was pregnant but then I got a UTI, so be careful!  A, you had gestational diabetes among your other health problems, B, shut up, C, never get between a pregnant woman and her cravings.

  • Not recently, but with my last pg a co-worker said, "Wow! You've really gained weight since you got married!"

I wanted to say, "No sh!t sherlock! I'm pregnant!"

Needless to say, this guy got fired for harassment. Not of me, but of many women co-workers. Ha! I was happy to see him go!

    Loving life's blessings!

  • Yesterday my husband's family was over.  They asked if we are getting rid of our 9 month old puppy once the baby comes.  I was dumbfounded!  The dog was here first.  To make things worse, not related to the OT but when we told hubbys grandma she just said "hmmm ok" very neutral, no excitement.  I was heartbroken because we waited because we wanted to tell her in person.

  • From a coworker, "idk what your pregnancy books say but you shouldnt eat white bread bc its really bad for you and your baby"     WHAT?! really,  same coworker told me not to eat ravioli bc there is msg in it.. thanks for the tip

MIL's boyfriend told me over a family lunch "When your in labor dont yell, that will get really old for DH"    ...sorry but I will yell if I feel the need to lol, I think DH will understand

  • From my Aunt, "How much weight have you gained!?"  Umm, 6lbs a**hole!  So if I stay at the same rate I'll gain 16lbs total (I hope it stays that way).  I lost 40lbs this past summer.  I'm pretty sure 16 won't be that bad.

  • Um many times a day.  I hate the comments from parents.  Now, although I know they are right and trying to be helpful, it is just obnoxious.  I hate how they always go to the negative side.  " Get you're sleep in now!" or when I say I pee a lot, " well I don't know what you're going to do at 9 months, it only gets worse."  I know it gets worse and I know I won't be able to sleep, but it's frustrating that as a first time mom who has never been pregnant I am not allowed to vent or complain without being yelled at by know it alls, who you know did the same thing when they were first pregnant.

  • I have one co-worker who keeps saying some version of "well you've always had a belly" as in "oh you're pregnant? Well I didn't notice because you've always had a belly" When I said something about my pants still fitting but I had to unbutton them when driving "you have to do that already? Well you've always had a belly"  "You're really big for only being 3.5 months but you've always had a belly so that's probably why you're showing so much" Now I'm not tiny by any means but I was a size 8 pre-preg and way smaller than her, still am with my "giant" nearly 16 week belly.

All of this sounds infuriating! I was a size 12 pre-pregnancy and if anyone says "you had a belly before" to me I would punch them in the ovaries.
