Don't eat carbs or sugars and make sure you're eating protein! You do not want to fail it! :0 I had to test early because of family history and I failed. The three hour was miserable and the lab was connected to a starbucks type cafe and I had to smell all the yummy food while I was starving.
Had it last week. Don't worry, the 1 hour is not that bad. Eat a small breakfast with plenty of protein and light or no carbs (I just had 2 scrambled eggs with cheese) and chug your drink.
We don't have appointments for them here, that would be nice! I think I'm going to do it Tuesday morning since DH is off and I won' t have to bring DS!

Mine is tomorrow and I am dreading having to drink the orange drink. I'm so afraid that I am going to puke it up. I'm not so worried about passing but the drink is giving me anxiety! I know I'm making it way worse than it will be.
I took my on Saturday... hoping I passed! As PP have said... don't eat or eat lightly so that you don't go in with high sugar to begin with. I had to take the test early in pregnancy because of family history and failed big time because I did it right after my appointment (i had a large Pizzahut lunch beforehand). The dr. tells you not to fast but the techs at the lab I went too all agreed that not eating (or eating lightly) is the best way to get a true reading. The 3 hour was an awful way to spend a Saturday morning and I hope I'm not doing it again this weekend... we'll see at my appt on Wednesday. Good luck everyone!
Mine is first thing in the morning tomorrow too...super nervous. Had a protein filled dinner tonight, and fasting from here on out. OB didnt tell me to fast, but I am going to because I dont usually eat breakfast until Im settled in at work around 9am anyways. Praying I pass! Good luck to everyone else!
Mine is tomorrow. Kinda nervous because it is in the afternoon this time. Last time my doctor recommended a piece of toast and an egg for breakfast and I passed just fine.
Mine is tomorrow. I'm not too worried about it. Probably because mine seems a lot more low-key than some other ladies. I only have to fast for one hour before drinking the "juice." My plan is to just have scrambled eggs for breakfast. I think I'll be okay.

It's not that bad- ask for the orange one if you can- it's like drinking flat orange soda. I had an egg before, which was good because it made me crave orange juice, and thus I felt better drinking this crap! DO NOT fast before it because it might make you feel sick- some sort of protein (like an egg) is a good idea!

I take mine tomorrow afternoon.. My doctor said to eat normally until the one hour fast... I hope all goes well.. Esp since most of you ladies get to do it in the am.. More to make me nervous.. Good luck to everybody.

Good luck!
That's exactly what I'm making is scrambled eggs. The nurse suggested protein. And I plan on drinking only water.
Mine was on 12/30, and I had a bowl of instant blueberry oatmeal about 3 hours before. I had the lemon lime drink that I chugged, and it really wasn't that bad. I was glad that I had something in my stomach (I was told a 2 hour fast), because I could tell that without the food, the drink would have eventually made me sick. I passed with the best numbers of the day, 87, after 2 weeks of non-stop Christmas cookie eating!
I will be doing mine when I have my regular OB appointment on Friday (there is a lab at his office so I can drink the juice, see him and then to the blood test afterwards). They had no special instructions re fasting.

I had my one hour this morning and have to go back for the 3 hour (possibly only 2 hours?). I had a 151 and the Dr said they needed 135. Curious to hear what everyone else got.
