If you are DOR

How old are you?  I feel too young to have such crappy eggs, but I spotted other ladies here who are DOR and even younger than myself.  It got me curious.

I am 33.

Re: If you are DOR

  • I am 38, but we started TTC right after I turned 36 and we have yet to have a successful pregnancy.  I realize I am not that young, but my FSH is not that high that I should be having so much trouble.  That is partly why I am looking into getting some 2nd opinions.  33 is certainly young for DOR in my opinion.

  • I'm not DOR but I do have crappy eggs.  We never made it to embryo transfer with my eggs (did our first IVF when I was just about 27 or 28).  I'm coming up on 31 now.

  • I'm am actually POF, but I was 29 when I was dx (I am 36 now).  I was probably DOR in my mid to late 20s.  Unfortunately, IF knows no age... It affects women at all ages.  :-(.

  • I will be 40 in 16 days.  I started TTC at 37.  I am in the middle of an IVF cycle right now - I have 1-2 follies.  That is it.

I am cycling with my friend - she is 42.  She has 7-8 embryos.  She has more egg quality issues.  I have quality and quantity issues.

    DOR sucks!

  • I am 39 years old & have been diagnosed with DOR for almost 2 years now. My FSH was 9 & AMH was 1.2 - both border-line but given that we have produced 21 embryos with no successful pregnancy is a pretty good indicator of DOR. We are looking into donor eggs as our next option.

My best friend is 32 & has an FSH of 12 & an AMH of 0.8 so even though she is younger than me her lab values are worse than mine. She too has been diagnosed with DOR. It truly sucks that it can happen at any age - not just the older ladies :(

  • They told me at age 36 but I was already AMA according to them. I have seen really young ladies with DOR though. My good friend was diagnosed with it at 27.

  • I'm 33 and was dx with DOR at 31.  My FSH was 10.8 then and it was 23.3 in October.  I've never made alot of eggs in an IVF cycle (the most I ever got was 7) but my RE says that since I'm young, I have quality on my side.  I'm currently pg with a singleton through IVF#4. One egg was retrieved after 21 days of the max dose of stims.
