Baby moon out of the country?

My DH & I want to take a baby moon but he is scared of going out of the country in case something were to happen. Ugh! I am trying to assure him the chances are slim but he want to be cautious....I'd love to relax on a beach!!

Any good suggestions for travel next month in the us?

  • I have Hawaii on the brain these days. I need to go back there. Pronto. Otherwise, I think the warmest beaches on the lower 48 will be in Florida.

  • I agree with pp, Hawaii and Florida would make the most sense. I personally refuse to travel to another country until I have explored my own. Although I think you would be perfectly fine to travel outside, depending on where ya'll plan to go you just need to be more cautious with food and water to avoid illness... But we have many treasures here in the U.S. I hope you find exactly what your looking for...

  • Think you could get away with Puerto Rico? It's a US territory...

  • Sanibel Island!  It's just off the coast of FL...you actually get there via a causeway, so I don't think your husband would mind.  We have wanted to go there forever, but haven't been able to get way.  The beaches are supposed to be beautiful, and if you like to pick up shells, it's supposed to be in the top ten beaches in the world for that.  Here's a website that gives a run-down on what else is available, besides shelling and lounging. :)

  • Hi, I'm a resident Floridian here. The beaches here are awesome, but sadly, I can't vouch for our February weather. That's pretty much the coldest/ most unpredictable month of the year. You could luck out and have a week of gorgeous weather, or you could have hard freezes and high winds. If you waited until March, though the weather is usually quite nice.

Maybe try Hawaii, as PP said, or perhaps southern California?

I dont consider it a baby moon since it was already planned and paid for, but we are going to Rivieria Maya, Mexico the first week of March.

I am jealous. I went to Tulum a few years back and still dream about waking up to the sun and sand just outside our beach cabana. I want to go back for baby moon, but dh is worried, since I got sick last time. I think it was a bad margarita :(.

we love sanibel island! DH has been going there every year in the spring since he was like 4, and i've been going with him the past 6 years! it's great! we always stay at the pelican's roost, and the beaches are beautiful.

we love to go out at like 3am with flashlights because there is so much cool stuff on the beach! we even saw a small octopus (like 5" big) give birth to hundreds of baby octopi in the water! they were only like 1/4" big! it was truly amazing. we always see cool stuff on that island, and pelican's roost is right on the beach.

  • Thank you so much for all the wonderful suggestions!  I'd love to go to Hawaii, neither of us have ever been.. But I fear it's going to be too much $$$? I also totally forgot about sanabel island! That sounds like a great destination!

Thanks again ladies! I'll keep you posted :)

  • Not sure about February, but we went to Arizona in March and it was 80 degrees and amazing the whole time.  No beaches, but great pools and heat!  Plus most of the resorts give pre-natal massages.

  • I wouldn't go on a plane when pg, just for the chance of getting sick from the sickies on the plane ride. And for sure I wouldn't go out of the country - I just wouldn't risk getting something.

If you have to get away, I'd go to Hawaii for sure!! Maui is amazing!!

    Loving life's blessings!
