Asha started showing an interest in her friend's baby doll. I want to get Asha one and needs some recs. Easy clean is a must - like either machine wash or a hard/soft plastic doll that can be immersed in water. She seems to like the open/close eyes. I like the corolle mon premier dolls (tidoo or calin i think?) or maybe the melissa and doug jenna baby doll. I'm torn between a hard plastic or a more realistic baby at this stage. Also, Asha is biracial with olive skin and dark hair/eyes. Almost all the baby dolls I find are blue eyed with an occasional east asian or african american doll. Any suggestions for dolls that have similar features to my girl? (not a must but would be nice)

Re: Baby doll recs for 18 month old?
Have you seen Bitty Baby from American Girl? My daughter got this as a gift at a baby shower and I got it out at about a year. It is by far her favorite toy. She takes the doll to her chair and "reads" to her. For Christmas I told my mom to get her a baby doll stroller. She thought she'd be too young but again, Aly loves it. She pushes her doll all over the place.
The Bitty Baby doll has eyes that open/close and you can get it in many different ethnicities (sp?). I'm not sure about how washable it is but I know the clothes come off to be washed and you can spot wash the doll itself.
ditto this. My bff's girl was 18 months at Christmas and I got her one. It is Asian like her as well. She loves it.
After two losses, third time was a charm.

I just got the Melissa and Doug Jenna doll for my soon to be 2 year old niece. It was reasonably priced and I was able to get a few accessories to go with it. I thought about a bitty baby but didn't want to spend that much on a baby for a 2 year old. I'll likely get her that when she's 4 or 5.
I've seen recommendations on here for Manhattan Baby Stella. She looks really cute and I beleive is along the same price point as a Corolle doll. But, I think she's all fabric so maybe not washable.
