Snack for preschool this week

DS is in preschool two days a week and this is his week to take snack.  Its only 9 kids total, so I dont mind if I do something that costs a little more or takes a little more effort for me to put together since I dont have to do a lot.  Looking for some fun ideas.  Can't be cookies/cakes/candy etc.  Here are some of my thoughts, but looking for your ideas too.  Oh and nuts are ok/allowed.  Oh and I like to send two things so if kids dont like one of them they will hopefully like the other.

pb&j cut out in the shape of a snowman or some other fun shape with some fruit (thinking with banana or apple)

I did trail mix last time and it went over well, thinking about doing that one day.  Looking for different items to put in.

Cheese cubes/sticks a maybe carrot sticks and ranch

Apple slices with pb or carmel (which is preferred?  my DS doesn't eat either with his apples) and maybe a small granola bar.

Re: Snack for preschool this week

  • At our preschool, they tell us healthy snack and another one. The teachers stressed that this is supposed to be a snack and not a meal. So I usually, do half a banana/little cuties/carrot sticks and a big bag of pretzels or crackers.

  •  Our snack policy is at least 2 food groups/choices. I have done both grilled cheese and quessadillas in shapes and it is a hit each time. Once I did waffles with cream cheese (fail) and bagel with cream cheese (fail) I also like cheese sticks, and fruit as an easy one.
