C-sections

has anyone been told they have a thin uterus

After my 2nd c/s, I was told that my uterus was VERY thin and was lucky my body didn't progress past 4 cm because I would have ruptured.  She said that if I have another baby it will be another c/s at 38 weeks the latest and not to even think about a VBAC again.

Anyone experience this and have another c/s?

Re: has anyone been told they have a thin uterus

  • My OB came in after my c section with my second daughter and said my previous incision was very thin.  I had started bleeding during labor and my daughter's head wasn't engaged in the birth canal so my OB nixed the VBAC.  He said he felt like he made the right call after seeing how thin my uterine wall was.  But he didn't tell me not to think about a VBAC or the 38 weeks at the latest thing.

VBAC isn't really much of an option since there will only be 14 months between babies.  But because he told me this I don't think DH would be pro VBAC anyway, and as much as I wish I could VBAC the idea of rupture really does scare me now.

  • My first c/s was an emergency and I tried a VBAC with my son but ended up being rushed for another section.  I was 9cm with my son before my c/s and told while in surgery that I had had a tear in my uterus and would no longer be allowed to contract again.  I had a lot of bleeding but there were able to repair everything so that's good!
