St. Clair Question

We are not yet TTC, but we will be soon, so I was researching hospitals. I have narrowed it down to St. Clair and West Penn, but I am really favoring St. Clair at this point. Does anyone know if they let your spouse and baby stay with you in the room at St. Clair? I can't find the answer on the website anywhere.

Re: St. Clair Question

  • Yes they do. YOu have the option of keeping the baby in the room with you or they will take him/her whenever you ask to the nursery. At the push of a button they bring them back in. The nurses there are fabulous!

  • I still have 10 weeks to go - but I'll be delivering at St Clair. So far everything I've had to do with them is FABULOUS! My MIL works there (on a different unit though) and she said I'm going to love the rooms and the care - which I believe her 100%! Our hospital tour is after Christmas - and I can't wait!

  • I delivered my last son at St. Clair and absolutely LOVED it!!!  I am actually bummed that my Dr's don't deliver there anymore and I can't go back.  They will let your husband stay every night with you if that is what you want.  Everyone that I met there was so nice and accommodating.  I think you will be very happy delivering there.
  • I delivered at St. Clair in August and yes, baby and dad can stay in the room with you.  The only downside to dad staying, is the pull out chair was super small so my husband went home to sleep.  I think some rooms might have a mini couch.
