The lab called with our fert report and we are thrilled!
Out of the 20 fully mature eggs that were ICSI'd, 19 fertilized! Out of the 2 "intermediate mature" eggs that were ICSI'd, 1 fertilized!
And the
best news... out of the 5 eggs that we tried to conventionally
inseminate, 3 fertilized!!! We are so excited that the sperm were able
to fertilize the eggs conventionally despite MH's low count. MH was like, "Take THAT, you doubting doctors..."
So the stats:
Eggs retrieved: 34.
Non-mature: 7.
Total fertilized (out of 27 remaining): 23.
We won't hear again from the lab until they're checked on day three
(Tuesday) and we're supposed to schedule an appointment for a three-day transfer
just in case... but we're expected to make it to a 5-day transfer on
Thursday.
Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.
IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.
Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

Thanks marie! I just read your update from my other thread -- I am super excited that you have an appointment on the 24th for FET. It must be so hard to wait but good that your LOs are in great shape with the new freezing protocols and waiting patiently for you. I'm also glad that your OHSS didn't escalate further... after the nurse told me I was at risk I started reading online about severe OHSS and it is so incredibly scary... stories of women putting on 20+ pounds of water weight, having to be drained multiple times, eek!

It looks like ER is going to be weds so almost done with stims! I'm so ready bc I'm just tired of feeling uncomfortable and bloated. I cannot imagine how you must have felt toward the end of stims with 34 follies!!

Lynda, this is fantastic news! Take that doubting doctors, and take that IF! The waiting after ER for additional news on your embies is soooooo exhausting and nerve racking, BUT, I know that you can do it. You are an amazing lady. Hang in there sweets. You're doing a terrific job. :-)
