I know eggs are a common allergen and they aren't supposed to have them for awhile. But how far do you take it? Baby boy eats bread that contains eggs. I also add eggs to a potato casserole that we have given him. Last weekend I gave him a nibble of the crust on a quiche and wiped off the egg. But in hindsight that was probably too close to the no no zone. Strawberries are risky too - but I have given him fruit out of a fruit salad that touched the strawberries, without giving him strawberries themselves. How careful are you about the known allergens?
Re: Eggs
yes - this is very good to know
Thanks!
Our pedi said no egg whites until 1 year, so I'll probably stick with just yolks for now, though I haven't given her any yet..
We don't have a history of food allergies, but I'm conservative when it comes to feeding the wee one.
Since we don't have a history of allergens our pedi said we can feed her 'allergen' foods so long as we space out the introductions by at least a week. She's had strawberries, peanut butter, and whole eggs. She often has peanut butter and puree sandwiches for lunch and scrambled eggs for breakfast.
