Well, I am only three weeks late introducing our LO. Our little girl actually arrived on December 23. She was born at 36 weeks after I had been put on bedrest two days prior for blood pressure and preterm labor...the bed rest obviously did not work and she decided to come on her own terms My water broke at 12:30 AM on 12/23 and Peyton Elizabeth was born at 9:53 PM that night. She was 6 lbs and 18.5 in. She spent the first week in NICU due to a blood type incompatibility which caused her to have severe jaundice. We brought her home on New Years Eve and it has been a whirlwind ever since.
L&D was not as bad as I had worked it up in my mind to be. I got an epidural around 4 PM that afternoon and was able to rest a little while before pushing that evening. Recovery was a little rough the first few days. I had a second degree midline tear but I am feeling good now. We are breastfeeding and starting to get into a routine. I must say that parenthood has been the most difficult but rewarding experience I have ever had. The exhaustion was something that I was not prepared for but she is well worth it. I would not trade her for the world and love being her mom Thank you ladies for the advice and support over the past several months. I loved having this board as a support and resource throughout my pregnancy. Best of luck to you all as I am sure I will not have as much time to get on here as I did before...little Peyton sure keeps me on my toes!
