Pregnant after a Loss

This kid hates the doppler...

I get a good three seconds of hb for my comfort and they're off somewhere else escaping the evil wand.

At least I got to hear it! Lol.

  • Lol that is cute :) At least you heard it though. I am still trying to decide if I should get a doppler or not.

  • It has brought me so much comfort over the last week or so. Between the cramping, bleeding and brown blood all the time, it's nice to hear it whenever I might have a panic moment.

  • Love my doppler, but I"m afraid LO has the same mindset as your LO!! LOL.  I feel like every time I use it, I am always successful, and I can always hear the HB for ~10-15 seconds.. but then he disappears and it's impossible to get it back!!!

For the first week or so, I could find it on my own but never when DH was around to listen too!! LOL, I would find it, holler for DH real quick, he'd RUN up to the bedroom, and in that time, it'd be gone!!! LOL.

Just yesterday DH and I were joking.. we had gone out to dinner and I had chicken parm, which was FABULOUS.. we came home and tried listening.. literally as soon as I put the doppler on my belly, I found him/her's HB.. (normally it takes me like 10 minutes).. and, it was LOUD and CLEAR.. measuring between 165-174.. then in a wink it was gone.. DH joked that LO was giving us what we wanted right away that way he/she could go and swim up closer to my belly and get some of that chicken parm for him/herself!!! LOL..

Anyway.. long way of saying, ME TOO!! LOL.  But, like OP said in the second post.. it brings me SO much comfort.. even when I can only get a few seconds.. at least I still know all is well :)

Yea, that is what I am thinking. I have had quite a few moments where I wished I had it. I am going to try to order it today.

  • Oh yeah!  My daughter totally hates it!  Even my OB commented once that she is a mover and shaker because she's "on the go".  Before I started feeling her movements, I'd use the doppler just to hear her movements.  It was amazing to know she was moving around and kicking but I still couldn't feel her yet!
  • I just got mine on Friday.  Like Missbea, anytime I would find it and shout for DH it would go away.  I was eventually able to find it long enough to pick up the heartrate on the doppler (161).  But that was the only time. DH was happy to hear my own heartbeat with it.  He kept telling me that was the LO's.  He was finally able to hear the LO's hb for a second and now knows there is a BIG different.

I haven't used it since Friday because I had to press down so hard that my lower abdomen is sore.  No bruises but I can definitely tell I was jabbing pretty hard with the wand.  Good thing LO is pretty protected in there.

  • Both DDs were like that. They loved hide and seek. But, even a few seconds put me at ease. That's all that matters :D
