DD's first tooth is just now cutting, finally. I can see the top and feel the very top of it. Does that mean it's "cut" or is it still cutting? She's been miserable the last couple of nights, crying when we put her down in the crib, which she hardly ever does anymore, and we've had to rock her to sleep more often. I don't mind, but I'm just paranoid that something else is wrong. I've thought she's been teething so many times before and it turns out she's getting a cold, she had a UTI, croup, etc. It's just confusing. I figure now that I can actually see the tooth, I'm right to believe it's teething and I know the two bottom ones tend to come in pretty close together. She's fine during the day, laughing and playing, and is all smiles when we see her in the morning. It's just at night she has trouble putting herself to sleep. So, wise mothers out there, it's teething? Yes? Probably? Why can't she speak???
Re: So, she's probably teething, right?
Have you tried giving her pain medication? Infant ibuprofen worked wonders for M when he was teething.
I vote for teething too. My daughter is 9.5 months old and just cut her first tooth too. We had some really rough nights for about a week until it popped through. And by the way, we were exactly like you -- we had been thinking she was teething since about 6 months -- every single time she was fussy or drooling abnormal amounts, etc.
