I am so bad at figuring out what to wear for family pictures. We have ab appointment next weekend with this studio who seems to take great shots with bright colors. Ktwo09 gave me the idea to use books in the session. We are going with the very hungry caterpillar. I thought the bright primary colors of the book would really pop.
So now I need to figure out what we should wear, I want something casual. We will all be wearing jeans, we're just not dressy people. Dh already has this polo shirt in forest green, it would save me the trouble and money if we could work Jack and I's outfit around it.
Any suggestions?

Great photographer! I think having pops of color is important, but not being too over the top about it so it doesn't seem intentional. I'd bring in different textures, too, rather than everyone wearing a t-shirt. I would definitely dress Jack in something vibrant-bright t shirt (a color that ties in with the hungry caterpillar), faded jeans and sneaks. I think you own conver.se sneaks-i remember from the GTG, right (I have a weird memory!)? Those would be cute with jeans a simple top and a fun necklace to add color. Here are a few family shoots I like. They added pops of color without going overboard

If it were me I would wear a black top and perhaps a cool necklace (as mentioned by ALY1981). But I LOVE wearing simple black and I LOVE cool jewelry, so I would feel good in it - which is the most important think.
For your little guy, I think orange would look nice - especially if you have reds/oranges in your jewelry.
That being said - I don't know your style, so just be yourself and I am sure you will look gorgeous!
