R&R after birth

my husband just deployed in november, i am due in april and one of the possible dates for his r&r is about a month after my due date. i know the army is unpredictable and i shouldnt make plans until the plane ticket is in my husband's hands..but i was wondering if any of you have been in this kind of situation and if you have any advice.

    Not sure what type of advice you're looking for but our situation was very similar.  DS1 was born in April and DH took R&R in June.  DS was exactly 2 months old the day DH flew in.  It was a 15 month deployment so we actually had 18 days of R&R and it went great.  DH was awesome with DS and DS was totally fine around DH.  He came home for good when DS was 7 months old. 

     

    I will say that the hardest part was my emotions over R&R.  I was still very hormonal and every little thing made me cry - happy, sad, etc.  On the day he went back, I gave myself the morning to sulk/cry and then I had already made plans with a friend so that I would have to get myself up and out of the house.
