I'm so freaking out right now and wondering if anyone out here has been in a similar situation with a good outcome to share and help calm my nerves.
I had a baby in Aug. I had Mirena inserted on Dec 19th. The day that I had the IUD put in my OB had me take a pregnancy test since I told her that DH and I had unprotected sex on Dec 3rd. The pregancy test came back negative so the IUD went in that day. For the past 2 weeks I've been feeling nauseas and tired despite getting plenty of sleep at night. Today I decided to take a pregnancy test just to rule that out and much to my surprise the test came back positive!
I immediately called my OB exchange and they told me to come in 1st thing on Monday morning for an ultrasound. He also told me that there is a 50% chance of having an eptopic pregnancy with IUD. He also said that if they take the IUD out now it could cause a miscarriage.
I'm trying so hard not to panic but I cannot help but feel like I'm harming my baby every second that IUD is in there. This is going to be the longest weekend ever!
Re: Pregnant with IUD Anyone?
I'm sorry to hear this. I hope it turns out to be the best case scenario.

There was a poster on here when I had DD, and she ended up pregnant on her IUD. I think it had shifted, so she was able to get pregnant, but she was able to go on and have a successful pregnancy.
Good luck!
I am so sorry you are going through this. With a medical background in reproduction, I am kind of surprised they are waiting to have you come in until Monday. They didn't think you should go to the ER and have an ultrasound? I would think they'd be more concerned about the possibility of an ectopic.
I hope everything works out for you!!
I was JUST coming back to say the same thing. OPer I think I'd go to the ER. They have specialists on-call and they will be able to help you as well.

I work in Labor and delivery and actually know of a couple cases where a women delivered a baby with an IUD in. The babies were fine! It can be ok. If the test has come back positive hopefully that means it has already inplanted in a spot away from the iud.
If you are having any pain, abdominal tenderness or bleeding go to the ER.
The doc did say that there was a 50% chance of it being ectopic and he asked if I had been experiencing any pain, which I have not. Thank goodness! He just told me to wait and come in first thing on Monday morning for an ultrasound. I'm still considering just going to the ER anyway because I'm a nervous wreck and didn't sleep at all last night.
