Brown fibers in 9 mo stool after reintroducing dairy

into my diet.  Anyone else have this experience after being off dairy for some time?  At 6-8 weeks, LO was having problems, so I eliminated dairy and the symptoms improved.  Not sure if the brown fibers indicate that LO is still sensitive to milk protein.

  • My first thought was bananas. But I don't have any experience with allergies/intolerances. Was that a symptom he had before?

  • When he had trouble before, he had more obvious blood clot type tissue in his stool, and it was thicker and more red brown.  Still, these little fibers seem like smaller versions of the original.
  • Is he eating solids? I agree it sounds like what bananas look like in baby poop. Call your doctor if you are worried!
