I had brown spotting up until about 7 weeks and my doctor couldn't find a cause and we had an U/S and there was a strong heart beat. I haven't really had any spotting the past two weeks, except for on occassion when I have a BM. I have been pretty constipated and have had to push and it seems when I have to push I have the spotting, pink to red, and its only when I wipe a few times and then its gone. I have another appointment and 2nd U/S this week and am hopeing to be released from my RE. Is anyone else having this? Its really freaking me out...

    I was in the same boat, so my OB nurse put him on Muralax and since then no more red!  I continue to have brown spotting off and on which she said was normal - just my body getting rid of old blood.  I had another ultrasound on Thursday, and the nurse said everything looks great!

    I had one where there was a lot of blood in the toilet and i freaked out.  I upped my fresh fruit to 8-10 servings a day and that has helped tremendously.  Just so i know its not vaginal bleeding, before I use the bathroom, I'll pee then wipe.  No blood.  If theres blood after the BM only I'm slightly more reassured.

     Prunes dont help me for anything.  My friend recommended Metamucil.  Miralax is good and a stool softener would probably be helpful also.

     I hear it gets better when the fetus/baby moves up.  Good luck!

    Are you sure it isn't coming from your behind? Every time I had a BM from week 5 - week 8 I had blood. It stopped for a bit and now seems to be starting again.

    I also think it may be from your bottom. When I was 5 and 6 weeks I was so constipated and had so much pressure that I ended up getting a hemorrhoid with sometimes blood. Luckily at week 7 there was a shift in pressure and the hemorrhoid disappeared.  Also It's important to always wipe front to back as to not get infections :)

    Are you on progesterone or blood thinners? Whenever I have to strain, I bleed because the blood vessels have been thinned due to the meds.

    Normal, though scary. 

    eta: I have bleeding from both...uh...areas. You're welcome for that info. 

    I just burst out laughing. You're too funny. & to OP, what they said, take a stool softener

    Lol thanks! I'm certain it's not from my behind! I have had a spotting issue for over 2 years and been through 3 ongyns and seeing an RE and no one ever did find the cause! The only meds I'm on are for High blood pressure, not sure if they could cause it. I'll try the stool softener and talk to my RE this week! Thanks everyone!
