5 year old gifts

Hi all. My goddaughter is turning 5 in a month. She starts Kindergarten in September. Any gift advice? I always do a "day out" with her, but I want to do something else special this year. Mine are slightly younger, so I don't know what great gifts are for kids that age.

    I only by craft items and other stuff that can be used up for bday presents.  I know we have more toys laying around than DD can every play with, so like to buy something that's not going to sit around in a toy box until the kid grows out of it.  For something special, you could get her something commemorative that you can make together.  My neighbor has the neat stone garden mosaic things with the kids' handprints and names formed out of shiny pebbles. They're maybe 6-8 inches across.  You could take her to one of those pottery painting places, too.
