What carseat are you buying if you're not planning on getting the Chicco? I was dead set on getting this seat but just read some reviews that have me second guessing : the straps are very easily tangled and difficult to untangle. The sunshade is far too short (which I noticed in the store). The baby's are always sweaty when they come out of the seat because there's a lack of air flow?
I want this seat due to safety ratings but now I'm not so sure. I know there are lots of mommy's on here who love there's so now I'm conflicted.

We bought the Chicco Key Fit for DS 3 years ago and LOVED it!! The only complaint for sure would be the lame sun shade that really should be much longer but that was so not a big deal when you look at it as a whole and how good the safetly ratings are. Don't they have a newer model with a longer sun shade now? I thought I read that recently. DS used his Chicco until he was a few months past one, it was great. At that point I left it in the car instead of removing it (obviously due to the weight of DS at that point) but I got my money's worth for sure. Good luck.
Our straps never got tangled and air flow was not a problem at all. We are taking it out of the attic soon for DS #2.
I really liked our Chicco Keyfit 30 and I'll be using it again with this baby.
1) The lack of air flow is common with all infant seats, it's not exclusive to the keyfit. Some babies are just sweaty too, it doesn't necessarily have anything to do with their car seat.
2) It's one of the easiest seats to use and install and I didn't have problems with the straps.
3) The sunshade is bigger on the Keyfit Magic if that's important to you. No infant seat sunshade is perfect and you'll need a blanket anyway if you want to shade your baby completely. A swaddling or receiving blanket works well for this. I use this blanket with the car seat, stroller, and Ergo to protect LO from the sun and it works really well.
